St Louis College of Pharmacy

The new academic and research building and library is a world class building that provides state of the art facilities for instruction, research and study.

Tripling the size of its predecessor, the new building provides the ample space required by the students.

The Building

The new space is home to:

• 250-seat lecture hall
• Interactive laboratory facilities
• Additional study space
• Research space
• General Classrooms
• Theater
• Welcome Center

Construction

Due to a tight timeframe which required the building to be open on the first day of school, drywall installation began before the curtain walls were completely finished, exposing the interior walls to the winter weather.

AirRenew drywall with M2Tech technology was placed in areas that were subjected to the weather. All drywall was covered and continually monitored throughout construction.

Construction

The many different rooms and uses of the building required specific needs from the walls.
Working with CertainTeed specific products were placed in each room for optimal performance providing improved indoor air quality and enhanced moisture and mold resistance for the students

Key Challenges

• Pressure to complete the project ahead of schedule to open before the start of school.
• The drywall installation began before the building was heavily enclosed, extreme care was taken to ensure that the drywall did not get wet. Installation during the winter months, heavy snowfall and rain at times created challenges for the exterior and interior installation.
• Installation of Curtain Wall fabrication: the small construction site size and location in a metropolis required changes to be made in terms of product delivery and extreme care was taken to ensure the safety of all those around.
